Comp unresponsive

loads up windows xp fine. it wont load up to a internet page though. wont load up add/delete programs list or msconfig either. says rundll32 is infected. there is NO anti virus program on the comp. so i cant do a scan. what do i do? ive never ran into a situation where i cant even get online to download an anti virus program to help me find stuff.

Maybe download it onto a disk from another computer than install is from that disc? Probably not..

try going to your internet explorer properties and checking to see if its set to go thru a proxy server. if it is, you have a real nasty and wont be able to install anything anyway. going to have to do a lot of legwork in safe mode with networking to get the thing working right again. its a massive pain in the ass.

i think i might throw the thing out. its not worth half of the trouble of legworking through safe mode, if thats what it'll take. the only thing i'll miss from here is an old version of nero.

the only thing that needs backing up is bout 5 albums, 40 or so pics and Affliction Banned, thats it. theres always been nothing on this comp.

i dont think i have the orginal installation program, i could be wrong. i wanna try and save it tho. i might just pay someone to clean the comp up. either way i really dont wanna do it myself at this point.
