Default Kicking Off The Summer Shows

Well, last night i officially kicked off my summer shows. Went and rocked out to Green Jell˙. Wow what a great time. They did an hour of their collection of cult classics, ending with none other than "Three Little Pigs". Costumes/Props and all. At the end they were slanging a double cd double dvd all in one set collection, for $20. i got one and watch most of it last night. You get ALL their videos, live performances, behind the scenes, random apperances and other stuff. I had fun lots of fun.

Now time to get ready for the next round of shows! I have tickets already bought for: Carlos Santana, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Mastodon, Eminem, Jay-z, Korn/Rob Zombie Mayhem Fest.

Still need to scramble to get my Iron Madien/Dream Theater tickets & Megadeth/Slayer/Testament

Santana & Steve Winwood concert the other night ago. Winwood sounded amazing live, a little over an hour of a setlist. Played a lot jams.

Santana played for close to 2 hours. Did a "whats what" of songs. "Maria" definitely getting the biggest crowd approval. Awesome set, awesome & fulfilling show.

I didn't get to attend Iron Maiden or Megadeth

My dad and uncle completely left me out of Maiden. They just went and never bothered to check back with me for a ticket. I found out they went about 4 days later. Bastards!

I just didn't haven anyone to go with for Megadeth, so no go.

Mayhem was fun though. Spent way too much money on beer. Rob Zombie destroyed everyone there. Best act easily, stole the show. Will go and see him on a solo tour, which i'm sure he'll do soon.

Got some more shows i wanna check out.

    Atmosphere w/friends - Sept. 13
Pharoahe Monch, Boot Camp Clik, Kidz In The Hall - Sept. 15
    Jenny Lewis - Oct. 22
    Gwar & The Casualties - Oct. 29
Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Devourment - Nov. 14

Went to Eminem & Jayz on the 4th. Got smashed into submission, very fun. Young Jeezy, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, all showed up to perform.

Went to Atmosphere last night, 5th time seeing him live dating back to 03. Fairly decent i thought the song selection coulda been better. Opened with "Trying To Find A Balance" - was drinking Two Hearted Ale so i was gooood.

We saw two more shows that we plan on going to

    Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax - 10/5
    Clipse - 10/18

I'm glad Slug drop the live band. I wasnt a fan of that setup. Still has a live guitarist, which makes way more sense then a full band.

So last friday was the Alice In Chains/Deftones show.

This was very very fun. Which i almost happen just to get very very drunk, and then conversely very sober in a short amount of time.

We missed Mastodon as we didn't quite comprehend just how early this show would be starting and ending.

We got their, chilled for a bit, and Deftones took the stage.

Deftones put on a great show. Song selection was superb. Only con personally, was certain tracks off Saturday Night Wrist were not played. They really had a great selection - though mainly skipped over their S/T album and the aforementioned album. Main focus was the last release Diamond Eyes album, songs which they performed great.

The last act of the night, Alice In Chains: Maybe cause i haven't heard the last AIC album, the "DuVall" album - or maybe cause i didn't expect such at turnout crowd wise - for whatever reason, AIC really caught me by surprise. This was easily the best act i have seen this year. Cantrell and DuVall were flat out amazing. The song selection was mind blowing. Truly reminding me just how many bad ass songs AIC has. The place (outside venue) was very packed by the time they went out, and it sure helped amplify things.

Much much credit to DuVall and Cantrell who from the first note to the last sounding creepily TOO MUCH, yeah.... TOO MUCH like the original duo of Cantrell and Staley.

    Very good show!

Gwar has now been replaced by a Suicidal Tendencies/(Hed) PE show we plan on going too. Taking place that night, of the 29th.

We'll now see Gwar the following night on the 30th. Can't wait for that! Last seen Suicidal in 08.

Tickets tickets tickets! Gotta start collecting these tickets, to cement my status of really going. I'd say 4-5 of these shows i will be attending, pretty much not worried about it. I'd be super surprise if i went to all currently planned 6 shows. Given the time frame is so narrow.
